put a ring on it

All by Noir. Can you believe that octopus is a ring? So cool... But I think the panther is actually my favorite.

party time

It's holiday party time and I'm wayyyy behind. It looks like I'm going to need outfits for two parties and I absolutely don't want to go sleeveless this year. I always make that mistake and end up ruining my ensemble by wearing my coat all night. So I am on the lookout for a sleeveless to pair with an embellished jacket and a dress with sleeves. I love the polka dot dress above - understated to go with some statement shoes. The jacket would be perfect with a LBD!!

these shoes

I have been trying to find the shoes in the first pic for forever. I saw them first on fashiontoast but they're older and I can't find them on ebay to save my life. The last two pics are Louis Vuitton and the sequin boots/booties are incredible. I've never been a huge LV fan (since every trashy girl everywhere has a fake version) but I think my mind has been changed. Their resort 2010 collection is fantastic - it's really worth checking out.

in search of...

I still can't commit to a blazer. I see them everywhere and they look perfect, but whenever I try one on I feel like I'm swimming in it. I'm super short and the big boyfriend blazers look too overwhelming on me. Maybe I need a longer, leaner look? I was loving this blazer, but I waited too long and now there's only XS. Somebody tell me where to look!!!

black cards, black cars, all black everything

I am totally shoe crazed lately (obviously!). I'm going to have to stop at Nordstrom's after work for a little shopping therapy. So lately I have been on the hunt for a perfect pair of black platform heels. Something I can wear for everyday or on a job interview that has a little something special about it. These all have a great shape - I especially love the last shoe but they are $800 from YSL. I think the second pair might be the most practical, though but they're still around $600. They would be the perfect investment piece - comfy and can go with anything.

new obsession

I need a job where I can afford to spend $1000 on shoes. These are definitely the new shoe on my radar. How does Louboutin always get it so right?

hint hint!

I am well aware that I have been posting a disgusting amount of accessories - especially jewelry- as of late, but I am working to create a list that sums up what I really like right now. This is because Christmas is fast approaching and my plan is to send my boyfriend to this very blog as a kind of gift hint. Statement rings and necklaces come in a variety of price points and can either be absolutely perfect or can go really really wrong- I am coveting pretty much the entirety of the ring and necklace collections on shopbop.com. Make sure to keep in mind, though, (and this goes to all boyfriends out there - not just mine) that when you're in doubt about a trendy piece of jewelry, head over to a Tiffany's or a similar establishment instead because classics are always in style.

coach

I've never really been a huge Coach fan. I've always felt that their bags are too simple to spend over $100 on. However, some of their new items are pretty fantastic. They seem to have really hit the nail on the head for winter. The sequins, animal print, and chain detailing are spot on, but underneath it all they still kept their identity. My favorite is the gold sparkly pouch which just so happens to convienently be cross-body - perfect for a night out.

found

I am fully aware that none of these things relate in any way, but I came across them today and couldn't resist sharing. The first photo is from a current Vogue shoot based on Hansel and Gretel including Lady Gaga as the evil witch (she's sneaking into everything these days). I just love how the colors combine - it looks like a painting. Then there's The City's Whitney wearing an absolutely adorable outfit - love the plaid + stripes + shimmery shoes = an unexpected night combination that, surprisingly, works. The last two are showing off a bit of Spring 2010's lingerie theme. I am a sucker for bustiers, silk, lace, and garter belts so this really gets me excited. May be a little more difficult to make wearable, though, - no?

resort

Here are some of my favorites from resort 2010 accessories. Some of the stuff I looked at I really liked, while some totally underwhelmed me. I felt like the accessories were either way too flashy to the point of tackiness or way too understated. The colors all seemed kind of random too. However, there were plenty of awesome pieces, such as the ones above. I really would love the first three together or the last two together with a sundress. The Chanel tote looks totally beach or yacht ready, but if it were me I wouldn't be taking that $2000+ beach bag anywhere near the water.

in bloom

Both WWD and Elle have a similar spring floral theme today and everything is beautiful, but it makes me oh so sad. It reminded me that we are nowhere near spring and that the cold weather is just beginning. However, the first two photos (wwd.com) got me super excited for what is to come in spring 2010. I love the soft florals in super girly shapes. The pink dress and purple jacket are absolutely fantastic. I also love the sprucing up of stripes for springtime with the blue hibiscus flowers - a new twist on a favorite fallback. And lastly, for some reason I've been really into pearls lately and this final necklace uses them to create a really beautiful, unique shape - a nice change from the everyday long, single strands. Spring, why do you have to be so far away?

HOT

I may not be a big fan of her music, but boy does she look hot... WOW!

bundled up

Found this sweatshirt story on elle.com and loved it. It is the best feeling in the world when you are wearing an outfit that is both fashionable and comfortable. I have a pair of cable-knit sweater leggings from H&M that are very thick and cozy - they are my new uniform. These pieces reminded me of them. I especially love the pink sweatshirt below. Makes me wish I could afford a shopping spree right about now.

I couldn't finish this post without including some street style. All these are from Paris Fashion Week. All of the shoes are great and each girl included a pop of color, which I love.
