It's holiday party time and I'm wayyyy behind. It looks like I'm going to need outfits for two parties and I absolutely don't want to go sleeveless this year. I always make that mistake and end up ruining my ensemble by wearing my coat all night. So I am on the lookout for a sleeveless to pair with an embellished jacket and a dress with sleeves. I love the polka dot dress above - understated to go with some statement shoes. The jacket would be perfect with a LBD!!

I have been trying to find the shoes in the first pic for forever. I saw them first on fashiontoast but they're older and I can't find them on ebay to save my life. The last two pics are Louis Vuitton and the sequin boots/booties are incredible. I've never been a huge LV fan (since every trashy girl everywhere has a fake version) but I think my mind has been changed. Their resort 2010 collection is fantastic - it's really worth checking out.
I still can't commit to a blazer. I see them everywhere and they look perfect, but whenever I try one on I feel like I'm swimming in it. I'm super short and the big boyfriend blazers look too overwhelming on me. Maybe I need a longer, leaner look? I was loving this blazer, but I waited too long and now there's only XS. Somebody tell me where to look!!!

I am fully aware that none of these things relate in any way, but I came across them today and couldn't resist sharing. The first photo is from a current Vogue shoot based on Hansel and Gretel including Lady Gaga as the evil witch (she's sneaking into everything these days). I just love how the colors combine - it looks like a painting. Then there's The City's Whitney wearing an absolutely adorable outfit - love the plaid + stripes + shimmery shoes = an unexpected night combination that, surprisingly, works. The last two are showing off a bit of Spring 2010's lingerie theme. I am a sucker for bustiers, silk, lace, and garter belts so this really gets me excited. May be a little more difficult to make wearable, though, - no?

Both WWD and Elle have a similar spring floral theme today and everything is beautiful, but it makes me oh so sad. It reminded me that we are nowhere near spring and that the cold weather is just beginning. However, the first two photos (wwd.com) got me super excited for what is to come in spring 2010. I love the soft florals in super girly shapes. The pink dress and purple jacket are absolutely fantastic. I also love the sprucing up of stripes for springtime with the blue hibiscus flowers - a new twist on a favorite fallback. And lastly, for some reason I've been really into pearls lately and this final necklace uses them to create a really beautiful, unique shape - a nice change from the everyday long, single strands. Spring, why do you have to be so far away?
